This exciting opportunity for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established small animal practice in Orpington, Kent on a full-time permanent basis. They are looking for a driven, energetic, and ambitious individual with exceptional communication skills and the ability to motivate and lead a team.

The Practice:

This practice boasts a prominent position and is very well established, having been running for more than 40 years. There is a strong, loyal, and friendly client base with the majority expecting and wanting gold standard care for their pets, something the team are very proud to be able to offer.

The practice is in a great location in South East London, situated in a prominent leafy location with good transport links into central London with buses and a mainline train station 2 minutes away. The clinic is well equipped with a top of the range ultrasound machine (with doppler), a Celtic class IV laser, dental x-ray and an array of orthopaedic equipment. There is support from a continuous care hospital which is close by for inpatient care.

The 2.5 vet clinic has a fantastic nursing and support team with the previous owner also on hand to assist, offering acupuncture and complementary medicine.

The Role and Candidate

Our client is looking for a driven, energetic, and ambitious individual with exceptional communication skills and the ability to motivate and lead a team. The successful candidate will be a driven, dynamic, ambitious individual with exceptional communication skills who strives to practice to a very high standard using an evidence-based approach. 

The role allows for a good work-life balance by working 39 hours a week over 4 days. You will also be part of a weekend rota.

You must be a registered Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS and ideally, you will have at least 3 years' post-graduate in practice experience.

The Package:

Competitive package of up to £60,000 (depending on experience), which includes accommodation allowance and a vehicle or vehicle allowance.

  • Vehicle or £2,500 vehicle allowance
  • £1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days’ CPD leave per annum or pro-rata and in-house CPD training
  • 5 weeks annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid
