Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Cardiff
Our client is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to further expand their team of dedicated Vets and Nurses to help increase the services they offer to clients.
Role: Lead Vet
Type: Small Animal
Location: Rhiwbina, Cardiff
Practice: Small Animal Hospital
Team: The team is made up of 5 vets, 6 nurses, and a dedicated support function including an experienced practice manager. Across the team they have a wealth of experience so there is good support both surgically and medically - all of the team are willing to help one another and discuss cases.
Facilities: The practice is well equipped with an in-house lab, digital x-ray, K laser, u/s scanner, Laparoscopic and endoscopic equipment, and dental x-ray. The facilities allow the team to do as much as they can in-house, allowing the vets full clinical freedom.
Hours: The working day is 9 am-7 pm with a lunch break in the middle. They use a dedicated emergency service, so you don’t do nights or weekends, (other than rota’s Saturday mornings 9 am-1 pm). They want the staff to have an excellent work/life balance, the full-time vets work a 4-day week and always get the same day off each week so this can be achieved.
Sole Charge: Yes
Branch Work: No
Applicant Requirements: An experienced veterinary surgeon is required, ideally, with leadership and management knowledge and relevant experience preferred but mentoring and support are available. You will have strong communication, organisational, and people management skills, and understanding that as a senior vet you must lead by example. Knowledge of veterinary finance is highly desirable. RCVS membership and the right to work in the UK are essential. Clean driver’s license required.
