Permanent Lead Veterinary Surgeon - Fife, Scotland

Facilities and Services: They are a progressive, well-equipped practice in Fife that’s been at the very heart of their local community for many years. They take pride in providing a caring, compassionate, and friendly service to all their clients and their precious pets. With parking available and easy access to public transport, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy practice.  

Role: Your role as a Lead Veterinary Surgeon is key to the team’s ability to succeed.

  • You will be leading and working alongside a clinical team including vets, nurses, and receptionists at the main branch and the branch surgeries, when necessary, all aiming towards providing the highest standards of care while, maximising efficiency, nourishing customer services, and customer care and bond clients to St Clair Vet. 
  • You will be responsible for managing the clinical activities of the practices and act as the first line of management, developing the team to optimise uptake of clinical services, mentoring the team to allow for personal development, and showing initiative for innovation and change.
  • They care for all small animals, wildlife, some exotics, and even the odd seal! You will see a variety of routine, preventative, and more advanced cases during your working week, and you will have the opportunity to work between their sites which will offer you different paces & caseloads, should you wish.
  • If mentoring is something you enjoy, they have lots of opportunities to mentor & support their more recently graduated team members too.

Candidate:

  • If you have over 5 Years’ experience, are MRCVS Certified, and are an enthusiastic, approachable, and empathic person with excellent clinical- and communication skills please get in touch.
  • Their varied caseload means they have been able to welcome & support many certificate holders over the years. In their team, they currently have Certificate holders or Vets studying towards certs in; ECC, surgery, ophthalmology, internal medicine, and more.
  • They do have a small exotics caseload that they would be keen to consider increasing and welcome Vets with Exotic certificates/interests.
  • On top of your personal CPD allowance, you will also have access to the wider Group team of referral specialists for further support and CPD. They encourage everyone within the team to have input and feedback on the practice's future.

Hours: Part-time or full-time hours considered, 8 hrs day or 10 hrs days, including consults, surgery, emergency, and critical care, 1:4 Saturdays with time off in lieu.

Salary: Competitive - up to £55,000 p/a depending on experience and hours
