We are working with a family-run independent veterinary practice in Carlise, Cumbria is looking for a permanent mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. Our client is open to receiving applications from all levels of experience including new/recent graduates. Their caseload stands at 70% small animal and 30% farm (mostly dairy, some beef, and sheep), with the very occasional equine. As a traditional rural practice, they are willing to tackle anything from exotics through to backyard poultry!
The Practice:
This a family-run independent mixed animal Veterinary Practice that prides itself on providing the best possible care for the clients and their owners. They provide veterinary services to small animals and large/farm animals, with some equine seen also. Their highly trained and approachable staff are committed to providing high quality, personalised veterinary service.
They offer their clients 24-hour emergency service, which is covered by their own team. At this practice, they are dedicated to becoming the best GP practice in the area and are looking for a teammate that shares this passion in shaping the future. They currently employ 5 vets – 2 part-time (small animal and equine, and Saturday morning consulting) and 3 full time mixed vets on a rota.
The Role:
This is a full-time permanent position [they would consider part-time hours although they would like the successful applicant to participate in their equally shared OOHs rota]. Their full-time vets work a 4.5 day week as standard, Mon - Fri 8.30 - 19.00 - with a long weekend (3.5 day week) following a weekend on call. 20 minute consults, some sole charge, computer system Vetspace Voyageur
The Candidate:
They are looking for someone with excellent common sense, good practical skills, genuine energy, and enthusiasm for a career in traditional mixed practice. New and recent graduates would also be considered.
