We are currently working with a great mixed practice who are looking to recruit a full-time Equine and Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a permanent basis.
This vacancy is with a group of independent practices who have been providing a caring, compassionate and high-quality veterinary service since the 1930's. With their main practice in Barnsley and 3 branch practices spread throughout South and West Yorkshire, our client is well placed to serve the local communities with a 24/7 care for their pets and companion animals. They can offer a full veterinary service from emergency care to a range of foods, pet products, and simple, sound advice to ensure that pets are rewarded with a long and fulfilling life.
They currently have a large, experienced team of 8 full vets, 5 RVNs, 1 SVN and 3 nursing assistants well as 4 receptionists.
The position is full-time working 4.5 days per week, starting at 08:00 or 09:00 and finishing at 18:00 or 19:00.
The weekend rota is 1:5 Saturdays and Sundays.
The OOHs rota is 1 evening per week on call (Monday-Thursday) and 1:5 weekends on call (Friday evening - Monday morning).
Following a night on call there is a half day off the following day (finishing at 1pm).
Following a weekend of work, the next weekend the vet will have the Friday as a half day and back to work Tuesday.
There is some sole charge required at the branch practices which run 1-hour clinics.
The role is roughly 70% equine and 30% animal approximately.
The practice is looking for a vet with at least 1 years’ experience to join their experienced and motivated team.
