Permanent Mixed Veterinary Surgeon, Tyne and Wear

We are working with an independent mixed animal veterinary practice across Tyne and Wear that is looking for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time basis. This position is open to experienced and new graduate Veterinary Surgeons to join their lovely practice.

The Practice:

Established over 100 years ago and with 9 branches across the region, this practice is proud to offer 24 hours round-the-clock emergency care. They are fully equipped and staffed with dedicated vets and nurses, providing the best possible care for their clients. Some of the diagnostic and surgical services available include fully-equipped operating theatres, dental equipment, radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, ECG, and in-house laboratories.

The Role and Candidate:

This is a full-time role where you will be working 5 days per week, part-time would be considered and would ideally be at least 2 full days per week. The out-of-hours rota is one night per week on-call, with another vet. Bank Holiday cover will be required, which will be on a shared rota, and the weekend rota is as follows:

  • 1 full weekend on call in every 6 (for every full weekend, no night on call the following week and a Friday or Monday off to make a long weekend)
  • 1 Saturday morning in 3 (one of these will be part of the full weekend on-call every 6)

You will need a drivers licence for this position

The Package:

  • New graduate starting salary would be £30,000 or starting salary of £20,000 with a car, fuel card, and accommodation provided by the practice
  • Experienced vet salary will be commensurate with experience and whether car, fuel card, and accommodation are required
  • Year 1 review, salary increase, and bonus related earnings
