Permanent Night RVN - Winchester, Hampshire

We are currently working with a veterinary specialist practice located near Winchester in Hampshire that provides the highest independent surgical and medical care for cats and dogs from across Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex, and beyond. The practice is currently looking to recruit a permanent night registered veterinary nurse to join its successful veterinary team of professionals.

The Practice:

Owing to the growth of the practice their team of over 70 RVNs & 200 associates that take referrals in soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, internal medicine, neurology & neurosurgery, cardiology, oncology, and dermatology is looking for a confident RVN to join them in practice. 

The Role:

The Night shifts are predominantly inpatient care including high dependency and assisting with out-of-hour emergencies. As a Night or Twilight nurse, you will be working alongside an experienced out-of-hours nursing team who have a passion for the work they do. Their case load guarantees you will be able to put your nursing skills into practice and will be used to their full potential in a highly rewarding environment. They give excellent support to all their team members.  

The night position includes working 3 set weekday nights, plus 1 in 3 Saturday nights. 

The Candidate:

Experience in referral nursing is preferred, however not essential.  Due to the nature of work during the out-of-hours service, the ideal candidate will have proven experience as an RVN and is confident working with minimal supervision. 

To be considered for this role, candidates must: 

• Be a qualified RVN with proven experience in a similar role 
• Have good organisational and communication skills 
• Work well in a busy environment 
• Have a proactive ‘can do’ attitude 
• Be eligible to work in the UK.
