Permanent Oncology Veterinary Surgeon - Leeds

We are working with a small group of small animal veterinary practices in the Leeds area of West Yorkshire that is looking to recruit Day Veterinary Surgeons on a full or part-time permanent basis.

The Practice:

Our client has 4 clinics and 1 Tier 3 accredited veterinary hospital that has been providing a high standard of veterinary services to the Leeds area for over 40 years. They are continually updating their facilities and investing in equipment. They are also extremely proud of all their team and it is a credit to their commitment and compassion that they can provide this level of care to pets.

Three of the five branches have operating facilities, two of the branches can perform neutering and routine surgical procedures along with x-rays and laboratory tests. All of the clinics have fully stocked dispensaries.

They have phenomenal day and night teams. They have a large vet team including seven certificate holders in surgery, oncology, ophthalmology, and dermatology. They are supported by an experienced nurse team and a fantastic front-of-house team.

The Role and Candidate:

  • Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to work alongside their oncology vet as well as working in the hospital site.
  • Applications from certificate holders, surgeons working towards a certificate, or a surgeon with an interest in oncology are all welcomed!
  • Your role would be an approximate 50/50 split of oncology and hospital work. At their hospital site, you will have an established client base, oncology suite/theatre, and excellent inpatient facilities.
  • Your time working at the hospital will be very busy and will offer an exciting and varied caseload. Your role will also include plenty of admin/CPD time.
  • The right candidate will be an experienced vet surgeon who feels comfortable with all primary care duties.
  • Hours: Full-time or part-time; 4-day week; 1:4 weekends; no out of hours (OOH); open to a flexible rota for the right candidate.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary up to £69,000 a year depending on experience plus bonus scheme
  • Generous CPD allowance and four days each year to attend events
  • Group CPD Programme (including certificate holder level and leadership CPD)
  • 6 weeks holiday per year and birthday leave day
  • Employee discounts
  • Specsavers Free Eye Test (and voucher for glasses for VDU use if applicable)
  • Cycle2Work Scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme with BUPA
  • RCVS fee paid
  • VDS cover
