We are currently working with a fantastic 2-branch practice in Hull who are looking to take on a Registered Veterinary Nurse on a permanent, full-time basis.
The Practice:
The practice has been operating since the 1960s and sees all pets including small animals and exotics, as well as offering large animal services. They have excellent facilities and equipment and can provide diagnostic procedures to identify most illnesses. They offer everything from routine vaccinations and neutering to in-depth internal medicine cases. They have full kennel facilities, isolation facilities, the latest Sevoflurane anaesthesia, ECG, electrocautery surgery, biochemistry, radiology, ultrasonography, blood pressure monitoring and full surgical suites with a full range of orthopaedic equipment. They operate a team of 11 vets who are currently supported by 8 nurses.
The Role:
The role is a full-time, permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse position, working 37.5 hours a week, working between the 2 branches on a rota. Shifts are between 8 am to 7.00 pm, either from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm or 11.00 am to 7.00 pm. There is a weekend rota of 1:6, working Saturdays from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, and Sundays from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. They offer extra pay for a Sunday worked and a day back in lieu in return for working a Saturday. There is no out of hours requirement as emergencies are covered by an external provider. This is a small animal role but there is some opportunity for mixed work if desired.
In return, the practice is looking to pay from £18,000 upwards depending on experience, plus RCVS fees paid for, CPD allowance, pension scheme, and 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and proactive and will fit in well with the existing team of vets and nurses. The practice would like to see applications from experienced nurses but are open to considering less experienced but qualified registered veterinary nurses.
