We are currently working with an established, independent accredited practice situated in a historic market town in the heart of Buckinghamshire. This practice which has a very low turnover of clinical staff is currently able to offer a Registered Veterinary Nurse the great opportunity to join their fantastic team on a permanent full-time basis.

The Practice:

The practice is an established, independent, accredited 9 vet RCVS Veterinary Hospital with 4 local branch surgeries, all within a few minutes’ drive of the hospital, which was purpose-built in 2009.

They are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment including but not limited to 3 operating theatres, in-house laboratory, radiology, ultrasound, and orthopaedic equipment.

The successful applicant will undertake their routine consults at one of the branches, which gives true local care and allows their vets to develop strong relationships with their clients and their pets, and enable them to follow up their own surgical cases at the hospital to ensure continuity of care. They offer all routine and advanced orthopedic surgery (e.g. TTA) and have their own dedicated lab with specialist lab technicians to ensure they can start treatment as quickly as possible.

The Role:

This is a full-time permanent role where you will be working 37 3/4 hours per week. Some of the shift patterns include an early start at 7.30 am and the two late finishes of 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm, but you would start later in the morning if working later.

The weekends are worked on a rota on 1:4 and the hours at weekends is either a 12hr shift of which there will be a day back owed to take off the following week, and remaining hours are put through as payment. If the shift is 9 am to either 3-4 pm that will usually be a payment. Currently two shift patterns at the weekend.

The Duties:

You will be based at the Hospital primarily, although following lock-down they have opened 2 of their 4 Branches and they have to allocate a nurse there to help the Vets with appts, they don’t know how long this will run for.

The Candidate:

You will be working alongside a team of 7-8 RVN's so teamwork is a priority in this role. You will have good communication skills with colleagues and clients alike as well as being a good fit in the Team is very important to them. They provide Lab training, this is not part of the shift pattern but sometimes required at end of day when lab staff has left. They have access to using quick and easy machines!

You will be an experienced RVN and they are looking for the candidate to feel comfortable working in Theatre and Ward. Nursing levels can be up to nursing intensive patients
