We are working with a well-established small animal practice in Wakefield, West Yorkshire that is looking to recruit two enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse on a full-time permanent basis.

The Practice

Our client has been providing veterinary care to the pets of West Yorkshire for more than 60 years. Originally started as one practice in Wakefield they now have 5 branches supported by their main Hospital, the highest level of accreditation, from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). They are very excited to have plans underway for a new site in Wakefield, which will enable them to offer a greater provision of services, including more operating suites and an on-site CT scanner. 

They are proud to have a strong community focus, sponsoring many local events and organisations. They have a large friendly team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Animal Nursing Assistants, and Support Teams.

The Role and Candidate

Our client is looking for two friendly and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team of 13 Vets, 15 RVN/ 8SVN/ 12 support staff on a full-time permanent basis. You will be based at the main hospital in Wakefield but you will be expected to do shifts across the branches as needed.

This is a full-time (40 hr PW) position, however, part-time applicants are welcome and branch work can be an option if desired. 1:4 weekends (one day only and time in lieu given). Minimal night duties as regular night RVNS, so cover for sickness/holiday only and shared between 9 other RVN team members. Nights include a second assistant (usually student or TVN). Applicants with a surgical bias would be welcome. Clinical Coach experience useful or desire to train. Postgraduate certificates in all disciplines welcome an opportunity to undertake additional certification for those who are interested.
