We are currently recruiting for a full- time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join practice based in South Wales, around the Bridgend area on a permanent basis. The practice has a large, experienced, and lovely team that work together within their busy hospital.

The Practice:

They currently have a strong, diverse, and vibrant team of 8 Qualified Nurses and 8 Student Nurses. They are all supportive and approachable; always offering advice and support as and when necessary to clients and also each other!

This practice offers outstanding standards of small animal care and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons' highest Tier 3 accredited diagnostic and treatment facilities. They have a wide range of facilities available including 24-hour nursing care, Intensive Care Facilities such as oxygen units, and intravenous fluid pumps. Operating facilities and diagnostic equipment such as ultrasound machines, operating theatres, endoscopy, and ECG.

As a training practice, they promote further development of your clinical skills and currently have two nurses commencing their nursing certificate courses, both of which are being supported and funded by the practice.

They believe that continuity of care is essential for any veterinary hospital and therefore provide our own out of hours’ coverage to enable them to deliver 24/7 care. This essential around the clock care is delivered by the nursing team on a rota basis covering weekend and night shifts.

The Role:

This would be a full-time role, and our clients' nurses rota is based over a 6 week period, with average weekly hours of 40 hours per week that includes OOH that can be a combination of:

- a set of 3 nights

- a full weekend day shifts 8 to 8 Sat/Sun

- a sat 9 am to 2 pm

Please note OOH/Weekends are part of the normal working week of 40 hours not in addition. That is accommodation for a night sight is not required as the shift is a full working shift, where the nurses are in the hospital and nursing, dealing with emergencies or prepping for the next day. You will be joining a lovely friendly team where teamwork and communication are key skills. Career progression is supported in this practice with progression to Senior Nursing Role available for the right candidate.

The day shifts are a mixture depending on where in the hospital the nurse is working that day, working hours would a shift between 08:00-20:00.

The Package:

In return for this, the practice is offering a fantastic salary of £27,040 p/a (DOE) with benefits that include:-

  • 20 days' holiday, plus Bank Holidays
  • Progression opportunities
  • Annual CPD allowance of £500 and 3 days
  • RCVS fees paid.
