We are working with a charity practice in Birmingham that is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role that would suit a Qualified Veterinary Nurse (VN) who will provide a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst promoting pet wellbeing, supporting Veterinary Surgeons to deliver preventive services and to treat sick and injured pets of eligible clients.
Founded in 1917 by animal welfare pioneer, Maria Dickin CBE, PDSA is the UK’s leading veterinary charity. Operating through a UK-wide network of 48 Pet Hospitals, PDSA provides low cost and free veterinary care to the sick and injured pets of people in need and promotes responsible pet ownership.
The hospitals are well equipped with the likes of ASIF Kits, Endoscopes, Digital X-rays, Ultrasounds, and ECG equipment - just to name a few! They have a very varied caseload with great opportunities for Surgical and Medical development.
The Role and Candidate:
You will be working as part of a team that supports in theatre, provides inpatient care, and carries out consults, admissions, and discharges, their Veterinary Nurses are also involved in dispensing medication, encouraging financial contributions from clients, and maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of the hospital and equipment.
This is a full-time permanent role where you will be working 37.5 hours per week in very busy hospital practice.
The successful candidate will be a Qualified RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse, expected to keep your professional knowledge updated by taking part in continuous professional development, and will be committed to the vision and mission of this charity practice.
In return, they are offering a competitive salary of between £19,505 - £21,673 per annum that is reflective of experience and an excellent package (pro-rata for part-time roles) that includes:
