Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse - Southampton

We are currently working with an RCVS accredited independent practice based in the Southampton area that is dedicated to providing an excellent service for all animals in their care. They are currently looking to recruit 2 permanent full-time Registered Veterinary Nurses for their main and one of their busy branch surgeries.

The Practice:

This is a friendly independent practice with the main clinic and two branches. They have a team of 13 veterinary surgeons [this includes some certificate holders] 12 nurses, and support staff. 

They actively promote preventative health care to help their clients’ much-loved pets remain happy and healthy. Their services and facilities include: - consultation rooms, fully equipped operating theatres, keyhole surgery, dental, separate dog and cat wards, in house laboratory, digital radiography, ECG, ultrasound, endoscope, anaesthetic monitoring equipment, Tonometer for eye pressure, nurse clinics for the overweight, furry, or elderly pet. This is a well respected and established practice within the area it serves with their main clinic having recently undergone an extensive refurbishment, that now offers the most up to date facilities.

The Role and Candidate:

This is a permanent full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse post working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 19.00,  Saturdays are  1: 7 rota from 8.00 -16.00 ish - if based at their main site or it would be 1:5 rota from 8.00 -13.00 if based at one of the branch surgeries.

The position would suit a qualified veterinary nurse who has good communications skills, enjoys working as part of a team and is able to deliver quality customer care and service.

Weekend: 1: 7 rota 8.00 -16.00 ish from their main site or 1:5 rota from 8.00 -13.00 at the branch surgery.

Salary: Competitive -between £22,000 - £24,000 p/a dependent on skills & experience + CPD + 25 days annual holiday + 5% employer, 3% employee pension scheme + further courses to support staff development by agreement.
