Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse - Cardiff

Location: Cardiff

Practice Type: Part of a group - They are a busy 2 branches of PSS accredited practice, and they are looking for a motivated, forward thinking small animal nurse to join and expand their team.

Facilities: They have access to in-house laboratory equipment, ultrasound, digital x-rays (including dental x-rays), and anaesthetic monitoring equipment, such as pulse oximeters and capnographs. They also have a therapeutic laser.

Team Info: Small animal practice with 9 full- and part-time Vets, 9 RVNs 3 SVNs, and 5 ANAs. The ideal candidate would be a good team player who is enthusiastic and passionate about veterinary care. They have certificate holders within the nursing teams and encourage further learning and CPD.

Hours: The rota is a 35–40-hour week, Monday – Friday, with a 1 in 9 Saturday morning rota. However, they are open to part-time applicants and would be happy to discuss a flexible working pattern, for the right candidate. There are no out-of-hours required, as this is provided by their neighbouring hospital.

Duties: 

  • The role involves a variety of duties, including monitoring of anaesthetics, performing radiographs, taking blood pressures, cytology, inpatient care, and keeping PSS standards. 
  • They pride themselves on the numerous nurse clinics they can offer, and they encourage ideas to keep moving the practice forward.
  • They encourage their team to have a good work-life balance.

Branch Work: The role will work between their two sites, which are just over two miles apart in the Capital of Wales, giving easy access to the scenic valleys and coastline of South Wales.

Salary: Competitive salary of between £24,960 – £28,080 p/a depending on experience, based on 40 hour week
