Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse - Elmbridge Borough

Location: Elmbridge Borough of Surrey

Practice: Independent

Facilities/Services: The practice provides a full range of services and its veterinary care is underpinned by the use of a full range of modern treatments. Aside from excellent veterinary care, they also offer:

Team: They have a supportive team of Vets, Nurses and Receptionists

Hours: Full-time position: Monday to Friday 10:00-18:00, No weekends/OOH.

Sole Charge: Some

Duties: Your duties will include

  • Administering drugs, anaesthetics, and injections
  • Preparing animals for surgery (aiding our veterinarians during invasive and non-invasive procedures and protocols.
  • Holding and monitoring animals during operations, conducting screening procedures
  • Maintaining, sterilising and laying out surgical equipment
  • Cleaning up after surgery
  • Undertaking diagnostic tests
  • Preparing and sending off laboratory samples
  • Taking x-rays
  • Caring for, exercising and grooming animal ‘in-patients'
  • Giving advice to owners about caring for animals
  • Keeping records
  • Writing and filing reports

Veterinary Nurse Requirements:

  • Degree in veterinary nursing or similar.
  • Demonstrable experience as a veterinary nurse.
  • Proven experience in animal-centered advocacy programs is ideal.
  • Knowledgeable about responsible quarantine procedures.
  • Well-honed surgical etiquette.
  • A decisive, communicative, and innovative disposition.
  • Thoughtfulness about animals' well-being.

Salary: They are offering a competitive salary of circa £30,000 p/a (DOE)

Package: The benefits package includes CPD Allowance £500 + negotiable.
