Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse - Kendal, Cumbria

A specialist-led referral centre treating a wide range of surgical patients; our purpose-built veterinary Hospital is located on the edge of the beautiful Lake District close to Kendal, Cumbria.

Facilities: This is a specialist orthopaedic and spinal referral practice, that majors in orthopaedics but also offer additional services in soft tissue, oncology physiotherapy, and acupuncture. The practice has built its reputation as a high-quality referral service in the North West and West Yorkshire.

Role: They are now seeking a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (or Student Veterinary Nurse) to work within their highly skilled, dedicated, and welcoming nursing family.

Responsibilities: As a Veterinary Nurse, the successful candidate will deliver gold standard veterinary care to patients. Previous Referral hospital experience is desirable but not essential as they will provide support and training.

Main duties will include:

  • Specialist ward nursing of Orthopaedic, Neurological, and Soft Tissue patients
  • Monitoring anaesthesia, including advanced techniques
  • Working in conjunction with their Specialists and Physiotherapist providing gold standard care to patients.

Candidate: Applications from Student Veterinary Nurses (2nd-year diploma or 3rd-year degree) will also be considered as strong support can be offered. 

Hours: Typical hours would be Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7:30 am and 8:30 pm, with 1 in 8 weekends, no on-call. This is a full-time role, although part-time hours will also be considered.

Salary: £22,000 - £32,000 p/a depending on experience
