Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse - Leicester
We are working with an established small animal veterinary practice in Leicester that is looking for two Registered Veterinary Nurses to join them on a full-time permanent basis. Whilst they ideally want some experience, they are passionate about personality and place far more importance on hiring the right person to fit in and complement their existing team. The Practice:
Our client is part of a group but is locally owned and managed with clinical and non-clinical support from the group. So you get the best of both worlds in one practice. They offer anything but a vaccination and neutering clinic so they have a very busy and varied caseload with a rough split of 45% dogs, 40% cats, and 15% small furries.
The Role and Candidate:
Our client is looking for a confident RVN with a passion for the small animal practice with a genuine love of the profession (warts and all) and the ability to deal with its highs and lows. You will treat all pets like they are your own, kisses and cuddles are given as standard. They are looking for a nurse that gets stuck in, thrives on those really busy days but doesn’t cut corners. You will enjoy meeting clients (even the challenging ones!), building relationships with them, and getting to know them and their pets. You are kind, honest and trustworthy, and willing to be an integral part of this work-family.
This is a full-time permanent role where you will be working 40 hours a week (5 x 8 hour shifts and 30 min lunch breaks that do happen!) with alternating weeks of early and late shifts of 8 am–4.30 pm or 10.30 am–7 pm. With only 1 in 4 Saturdays, working 8 am-4.30 pm, no OOH or Bank Holidays (they use Park Vets who are great). Your duties will include an equal mix of theatre, inpatient care, and consulting duties, no reception or admin duties.
The Package:
In return, our client is offering a very generous salary of between £20,000-£25,000 p/a (DOE) and benefits package that includes:
- 5.6 weeks annual leave incl bank holidays as standard rising to 6.6 weeks incl bank holidays after 2 years’ service. Birthday leave as an extra!
