Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse - Maldon, Essex

Type: Small Animal

Location: In the beautiful Maldon area of Essex

Practice Type: Well-established and rapidly growing practice with an interesting and varied caseload.

Services/Facilities: The practice is purpose-built with state-of-the-art equipment such as digital X-rays, a brand new ultrasound, and in-house laboratory facilities.

Team: You will join a lovely onsite team including a Practice Manager who is also a qualified and experienced RVN, a head nurse, 2 other experienced nurses, a student nurse, and a VCA. They have a team of 4 friendly and attentive receptionists, and most days will have 2 or 3 vets on site. 

Role: An opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly team! Their practice is now seven years old and is still growing rapidly, providing an interesting and varied caseload, alongside a friendly and loyal client base.


  • The typical working week is 40 hours across 4 or 5 weekdays and 1 in 4 weekends.
  • The weekday hours are 09:00-19:00, and the weekend hours are 09:00-18:00 Saturday, and Sunda 10:00-16:00.
  • The nurse shifts incorporate either five 7.5-hour days or four 9-hour days. The early shift starts at 08:30 and the late shift ends at 19:30.        
  • This is a full-time role, but they will consider part-time applicants (1 in 4 weekends is non-negotiable)
  • There are no OOH responsibilities as they are a Vets Now partner practice. 


  • They are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary nurse, also suitable for a newly qualified nurse.
  • They encourage nurses to be very “hands-on” and to fully utilise their skill set. They are very open to new ideas, and encourage training and CPD. 
  • Their nurses provide excellent patient care, from consulting to theatre and kennels.
  • They have a loyal and invested client base, so good consulting and communication skills are a huge positive – They engage with clients and patients, from door to discharge!
