Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse (Prep/Theatre), Northwich

Practice Type: Part of a group - This practice has been at the heart of the community for almost 50 years, and whatever your pet’s needs, you can rest assured that they have it covered. From a routine trip for vaccinations, nail trimming, or a check-up to more serious illness and injuries

Team: Opportunity to join a team of experienced Vets, Nurses, and Receptionists whose aim is to treat patients as though they were their own animals and to treat clients in the way they would wish to be dealt with themselves. You will be joining a team of:-

  • 12 Vets
  • Practice Manager
  • 26 Nursing Staff
  • 11 Auxiliary Nursing Staff
  • 15 Reception / Administrators and support staff

Role: They are seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to support their existing teams in providing exceptional care to patients. This role involves working between prep and theatre.

Hours: Full-time an average of 38 hours per week worked over 4 days

Weekends: 1 in 4 weekends with days taken in lieu the following week.

General Duties: Separate dedicated night team, stock control, and lab technicians so nurses do solely nurse! Working in our busy tier 3 accredited hospital providing exceptional care to our patients. The role involves:

  • Working solely in prep/theatre,
  • Providing high-quality peri-operative care to surgical patients,
  • Monitoring of anaesthesia, including emergency and critically ill patients,
  • Preparing patients for surgery and scrubbing into procedures if required
  • Undertaking both general and theatre nursing, including the maintenance and preparation of sterile supplies and instruments and infection control. 

Support: They actively promote career development with several of their nurses have completed or working towards certificates in anaesthesia, ECC, exotics, behaviour, and medicine. They also offer plenty of opportunities for in-house CPD provided by Vets, Nurses, and access to a learning platform.

Salary: Competitive salary of between £26,325 to £33,150 p/a based on skills and qualifications
