- Additionally, they offer experiences in orthopaedics and ophthalmology, with certificate holders in these areas.
- They also work alongside Herbie Hedgehog Rescue providing care to wild hedgehogs making prickly patients a regular for them.
- They have state-of-the-art equipment including dental x-ray, ultrasound, internal lab facilities, tonometer, slit lamps, and more to provide the best possible care to patients.
Role: Our client is currently looking for a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Nurse to join them in delivering outstanding care to patients.
Hours:
- They are open to considering flexible hours to accommodate your schedule.
- Their shifts vary between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm and 11:00 am – 7:30 pm throughout the week, ensuring flexibility and work-life balance.
- The Saturday rotation is 1:5 working 8:30 am – 5:00 pm with the support of a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) to assist you.

Clinical Supervisor status is preferred but not essential. They offer CPD funding of £500, giving you the chance to explore your personal interests.

A day in the Life of our client’s RVN team:
- In the veterinary practice, you are given a ‘station’ for the day. This will be either in kennels, theatre, prep, or consultations.
- Kennel shifts involve managing a diverse inpatient caseload where you'll devise and implement tailored care plans for each patient. The nurses are pivotal in overseeing the care of hospitalised animals and their recovery post-procedures, taking on a significant leadership role in inpatient care.
- On the theatre shift you will be monitoring general anaesthetics and assisting our client’s skilled veterinary surgeons during operations, ranging from routine neutering to complex soft tissue, orthopaedic, and ophthalmic surgeries. The team benefits from the expertise of a visiting peripatetic surgeon also.
- On the prep shifts you'll engage in a variety of tasks, including theatre circulating, aiding in consultations and kennel care, processing lab samples, and organising surgical kits.
- During consultations you will directly interact with valued clients and their pets, providing a broad spectrum of services such as weight checks, medication administration, post-operative assessments, and much more. This role also involves managing stock orders to uphold the seamless operation of our practice.
