Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse - Southampton

Type: Small Animal

Location: Southampton

Practice: Two site practice that is part of a group

Facilities: Both clinics are well equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, endoscopy, and Idexx laboratory machines (Catalyst and Procyte) and they have two consulting rooms at each site as well as dedicated theatres.

Team: However, the best thing about their clinic is not the equipment, it is their amazing team! There are 6 FTE veterinary surgeons with experience ranging from 3 to 36 years qualified, all of which are excellent, all-round clinicians. They have 10 FTE nurses across the two sites allowing them to have a 3:1 support to surgeon ratio. They have 4 FTE receptionists across the two sites and multiple official veterinarians.

Role: They are looking for a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team

Duties: The duties will include nursing hospitalised patients, anesthesia, imaging, laboratory work including cytology and running blood samples, the scope for schedule three surgery, blood sampling, and placing cannulas.

Hours: The role is Monday to Friday between 07:45 and 19:00

Weekends: 2:8 Saturday 8-12 (hours off set to total average of 40 hours per week).

Applicant Requirements: They are looking for a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse with experience in Small Animal clinics. The candidate must have confidence and competence in running anaesthesia alone, nursing clinics, and experience nursing a wide variety of species including but not limited to cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small furries.
