We are working with a well established mixed veterinary practice in the Taunton area of Somerset that has an opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a full-time permanent basis. They would consider part-time applications but this would be a minimum of 3 days a week and to be included in the weekend rota.
The Practice:
Our clients' friendly veterinary practice has been established for over sixty years and is based in the Taunton area of Somerset. They also have branch practices that expand their area of service to the community.
Their teams of dedicated vets in the small animal hospital, the farm practice, equine and poultry, and game bird departments, provide a comprehensive range of veterinary treatments to an extensive variety of species.
All their veterinary departments offer a full 24-hour vet emergency service and, as a Royal College of Veterinary surgeons accredited Veterinary Hospital, they have on-site nurses working around the clock to care for hospitalised patients.
The Role and Candidate:
The position ideally would be full-time that would involve a weekend rota of 1 Saturday morning (8.30-12.30) with Saturday night duty in 7 (TOIL Thursday prior and Tuesday after) and 1 Saturday morning (9.00-13.00) with OOH day shift (until 18.15) and 1 Sunday day shift (8.00-18.00) with the following Monday and Friday off as TOIL.
The shift patterns are - 08.00-17.00, 09.00-18.00, or 10.00-19.00 with an unpaid hour for lunch. Designated shifts either operating or kennels and no OOH during the week.
They would consider a part-time RVN to work a minimum of 3 days a week but would be required to take part in the weekend rota as above. Part-timers are paid time and a half for weekend work rather than TOIL.
The Package:
In return, our client is offering a competitive salary of circa £24,000 per year (FTE) p/a dependent on experience. Details of the package will be discussed in the interview.
