Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurses, Leigh Lancashire

Role: Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurses

Type: Small Animal

Location: Leigh, Lancashire

Practice: Our client is currently recruiting for a nurse (or nurses) to work at their branch practice, this is a stand-alone practice that has both dental and x-ray facilities along with surgical facilities. It is a short distance from the main site and is a 2 vet practice.

Duties:

Branch Role: They do not undertake any procedures at the branch practice which are likely to require hospitalisation as they have 24-hour hospitalisation facilities close by. A nurse at this site would need to run nurse clinics, help with surgical cases and any day patients, communicate with the main pharmacy nurse regarding stock levels of drugs and consumables, etc. They anticipate the nurse having a very responsible role within the practice as a whole and there would be the opportunity for them to work overtime at the main practice if they wish.

Consulting Role: They also are looking to recruit a consulting nurse for the main practice and anticipate that they would have the opportunity to gain great relationships with the clients. They see this as being either a full-time or job-shared position.

Head Nurse Role: This individual would need to be able to work well with the current team, promote exceptional client and patient care, be keen to share their knowledge with their team, and drive improvements in patient care through internal education. They would be in charge of the nurses' rota and would work in conjunction with the management and admin team to keep track of vet and vet nurse holidays. The head nurse will be supported by a senior night nurse and a senior day nurse who head up their respective teams. In addition, they have a pharmacy nurse who runs the in-practice dispensary and is in charge of ordering medications and consumables.

Team: Clinical team of 14 vets, 19 nurses, and 8 care assistants.

Hours: Dependent on the role. (see above)

OOHS: TBC

Salary: Competitive salary that is reflective of skills and experience (and agreed hours)

Other Benefits: Will be discussed in the interview

Skills/Other information: Fully qualified Veterinary Nurse that is registered with the RCVS.
