Permanent RVN - Derbyshire

We are currently working with an award-nominated independent RCVS accredited practice that has attracted attention owing to the dedication and care with which they have treated their clients’ pets in their local community-based in Derbyshire. They are now in a position to recruit a further RVN to join their existing friendly team.

The Practice:

This is a delightful practice that has been established for the past 10 years and since its inception has grown from strength to strength which is down to pure dedication, commitment to hard work, and a passion for veterinary care in the community. Although it sounds cheesy they would say that they work hard and play hard together and it’s like one big family. They currently have a team of 5 vets, 6 nurses, 2 SVNs, 1 ACA, a practice manager, and a reception team. Their facilities and services include: advanced small animal surgery, ultrasound, endoscopy, referral ophthalmology, soft tissue, and ortho work (new service launched in September) plus nurses are given the opportunity to explore clinical interests through clinics or other opportunities with vets.  The practice has a separate cat/dog ward and has the Gold Award for Cat Friendly and Silver Rabbit Welfare Aware clinic (they do handle a reasonable amount of bunny work).

The Role:

This is a permanent full-time position working Mon-Fri between 8.00 - 19.00, Wed till 20.00 - 40 hours per week on a rota with 2 half days. The weekend rota is 1:4 or 1:5 Sat 9.00 - 16.00 and with no out hours this role supports a good work/life balance. There is no sole charge required in the role.

Computer System - EZVet Office.

The Candidate:

This post would suit a qualified RVN with at least a minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a small animal first opinion practice. A diligent and considerate team player with good communication skills and the ability to use their own initiative and work without direct supervision.

The Package:

Salary Range: Circa £21,500 p/a DOE

Benefits:

  • CPD (£500 plus 5 days training)
  • RCVS & VDS paid
  • 20 days holidays plus BH (they are closed for BH)
  • Private medical care and life assurance
  • Veterinary care at the practice
  • Vehicle - not necessary however they do provide a mobile service in normal circumstances
