Permanent RVN - Staffordshire

We are currently working with a well-rated, independent practice that places importance on the relationships that they hold with their clients. They work with dogs, cats, small furries, and sometimes exotic patients and would now like an additional veterinary nurse to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Practice:

This is an independent, small, friendly practice that has built up a good reputation in the local community and is currently undergoing refurbishment to improve its facilities. They believe continuity of care to be important to their client’s pet who will be seen by the same experienced veterinary surgeon wherever possible. They currently have a team of 2 vets, 1 RVN, 1 VCA, and reception staff. They can provide the following facilities and services - soft tissue surgery, basic orthopaedic surgery, X-ray including dental X-ray, dentistry, ultrasound, advice on preventative care and behaviour, food and nutrition, blood and urine testing, neutering, vaccination, microchipping, charity work. 

The Role:

This is a permanent full-time position working Mon - Fri on variable shifts on a rota, earliest start 8.00, latest finish 19.00. WE - 1:4 Saturday 8.30 - 12 noon, No sole charge, No OOHs however would be expected to stay if on the late shift, and in the event, an emergency came in on Saturday. Currently using Robovet however this may be changing.

The Candidate:

This post would suit a well organised, efficient veterinary nurse who is flexible, able to use their own initiative, and capable of delivering a high standard of care. The ideal applicant will be able to work independently, place IV lines, take blood samples, and have good anaesthetic skills.

The Package:

Salary:  Starting circa £22,000 p/a would be dependent on experience

Benefits: CPD - £500 per year - RCVS / VDS paid, 28 days incl. bank holidays, 1 extra day for each year of service for the first 5yrs maximum 33 days + discounts.
