Practice:

The successful candidate will work in a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary Small Animal Hospital situated on a stunning estate. The hospital is staffed by a team of specialists across various disciplines, including surgery, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, and ophthalmology. Advanced facilities include a 1.5T MRI, CT scanner, linear accelerator, digital radiography, and four fully equipped surgical theatres. The hospital operates under a collaborative ‘One Hospital’ ethos, delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the professional development of the entire team.

The Role:

We’re working with a leading Small Animal Hospital in Glasgow that is looking to expand its surgical team. They’re seeking an experienced specialist to join them as a Senior Clinician / Professor in Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgery. This is a leadership role where you will be guiding the orthopaedic department, with opportunities for clinical teaching and research.

Hours: Full-time, 35-hour working week.

Duties:

In this role, you will lead and develop a specialised surgical service with an orthopaedic focus, contribute to the strategic growth of the hospital, and deliver a high-quality referral service. The position also involves clinical teaching of undergraduates, interns, and residents. A significant proportion of time will be allocated to clinical research and research-led education, working in partnership with other departments and institutes.

Skills/Exp:

  • A veterinary degree registrable with the RCVS.
  • A postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Surgery (ECVS, ACVS, or RCVS).
  • They welcome candidates with a strong interest in general surgery, particularly those with an orthopaedic bias.
