Permanent Senior Veterinary Surgeon, Blackburn

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal practice in Blackburn on a full-time permanent basis. In addition to your excellent communication and clinical skills you will need to be a people-oriented person, who is willing to support and guide your colleagues.

The Practice:

This is a "family orientated practice" that works well together. They all support each other and aspire to provide the highest standards. They are 100% small animal with a varied caseload. They have great facilities including; K-Laser, ultrasound, in-house haematology and biochemistry, digital radiography (including dental radiography).

They are located in Blackburn which has great commuting links to Manchester, Liverpool, The Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales. Blackburn has three local theatres with live music, comedy and drama. There is also a Museum and Art Gallery locally too. Blackburn is surrounded by plenty of places for the outdoor enthusiast, with the West Pennine moors to the Leeds and Liverpool canal, and numerous hiking and cycling trails.

They have a fantastic team over the two surgeries. 5 vets, 6 qualified nurses, 2 ANA, 2 student nurses & they also have 8 experienced support staff. 

They are a close team who discuss cases and support each other personally and professionally. They are lucky to be a well-established practice, at the heart of the community, with many loyal, bonded clients.

The Role and Candidate: 

Our client is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Vet Surgeon, with excellent communication and clinical skills. You will be comfortable with all routine and first opinion procedures. You will be keen to look after and work up your own cases.

You will be a good team player with a great sense of humour. Your passion will lie in developing not only your own skills, but those of your colleagues. You will be keen to mentor & support others too.

This is a full-time role where you will be working a 4 day week with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota. There are no OOH requirements, supporting a good work/life balance.
