Permanent Theatre Registered Veterinary Nurse - New Forest National Park

Type: Small Animal

Location: New Forest National Park area of Hampshire

Practice: A multidisciplinary referral centre currently undergoing extensive expansion and improvement of facilities. The practice is located in the South of England close to the New Forest National Park and South Coast offering easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities. 

Role: This is the perfect position for a Nurse looking to progress in all aspects of theatre-based nursing. This includes preparation of theatre suites and equipment, preparing patients for surgery, imaging patients, working in both a theatre circulating nurse and scrub nurse role.

Hours: The position is full-time, full details will be discussed in the interview

Weekends: To be discussed

OOHS: There is no on-call, night shifts

Duties/Requirements:

  • The candidate will require experience in anaesthesia and theatre practice, or have a keen interest to develop within this area.
  • You will help to facilitate the efficient and effective flow of patients through the theatre suite, whilst ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to patients.
  • The successful candidate will have the chance to develop new skills through the advanced nursing diploma, VTS, and certificates.

Applicant Requirements: They are looking for a Nurse with extensive knowledge of all aspects of surgical and anaesthesia nursing, protocols, and procedures to ensure the highest standard of care within the surgery department.

Other requirements include:

  • RCVS Veterinary Nursing qualification
  • Diploma in Advanced Nursing and/or Higher Degree (desirable)
  • Certificates in further nursing (desirable)

Salary: Competitive Salary up to £31,500 p/a - Commensurate with experience
