We are working with a small animal practice in Totton, Hampshire, that is looking for an additional Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team. This permanent role can be either full or part-time and would suit a Vet that is comfortable with occasional sole charge.

The Practice:

This is an exciting time for you to join this rapidly growing practice that is focused on building a strong local reputation by providing a quality and friendly service. You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with your own client base and have continuity of clinical caseload. The bright and spacious practice is equipped to do both routine and advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries, as well as having state of the art equipment including digital X-ray/dental X-ray and in-house laboratory facilities. There is also a separate colleague area for you to enjoy between clients. Totton is close to Southampton with easy access to the picturesque New Forest National Park, making it a desirable place for anyone wishing to explore both coast and countryside. It also benefits from train links to London Waterloo, Poole, and Bournemouth as well as easy access to the M27.

The Role and Candidate:

This rewarding position is flexible covering either full or part-time hours and will include 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9:00-12:00 noon) but no OOH, and as the practice is closed on Saturday afternoons and Sundays, all colleagues can enjoy an excellent work/life balance. The successful applicant should be confident in an occasional sole charge role and enjoy the variety provided by the clients and colleagues.

You will be part of a strong team dedicated to providing superb standards of client and animal care and as this role plays a key part within a small, friendly team, the ideal candidate will be adaptable and flexible. You should also have good general surgical and medical skills and experience in emergency surgery.

The Package:

  • Competitive salary
  • Enhanced annual leave after 2 years of service
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Generous CPD
  • Career development opportunities
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards
