Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Basildon

We are working with a lovely small group of practices in the Basildon area of Essex that is looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis.

The Practice:

Our client is a high-quality and caring veterinary practice striving to offer the best care for pets and companions. They are a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS) accredited practice meaning they meet the highest standards of customer service, hygiene, facilities, and equipment as well as encouraging staff training and development. This shows their dedication and commitment to offering pets the best veterinary care they deserve. Their practices include a busy 24-hour hospital that has recently been refurbished with modern surgical and diagnostic equipment plus two fully equipped branch surgeries in the area.  They pride themselves on high standards of patient and client care and have access to a top European Orthopaedic and Cardiology specialist who visits and works from this location.  

The Role and Candidate: 

You will be joining a team that currently has 8 full-time vets and 2 part-time vets, who are supported by a team of around 20 nurses and around the same reception plus office staff, so they are a big practice. 

Currently, the vets are working 4 days a week, 1 in 4 Saturday clinics, and 1 in 9 OOH weekends (inpatient responsibility only up till 9 pm). The successful candidate ideally needs to be proficient in both medicine and surgery and special interests are catered for.

The candidate would be based at their Basildon Hospital where they would be on a rota for either consults, ops, or hospital vet days. They do also have veterinary cover at their sites in Stanford and Wickford, these are preventative clinics.
