We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to start at a brand new,  RCVS Accredited, purpose-built practice in the unique cathedral city of St Albans on a full-time basis. This position would suit a vet with 2 years + experience and an interest in Ophthalmology and Imaging would be desirable.

The Practice: 
This is an RCVS accredited, independent vet-owned practice that delivers a high standard of animal care. They have created a brand new, purpose-built premises, containing the most up to date, and exclusive facilities available to make sure that both client and pet will have a pleasant, professional experience while visiting the practice. Their progressive and enthusiastic team have a diverse range of interests and expertise including internal medicine, orthopaedic surgery, diagnostic imaging, and dentistry. The practice is fully equipped with all the latest “toys”, they also understand that there are unique difficulties in bringing a cat to a veterinary practice and they are pleased to be awarded a silver cat friendly clinic certificate by the International Society of Feline Medicine, they are one of the only practices in the area who are cat friendly. They pride themselves on being a dedicated, caring and highly committed team who are constantly striving to provide the best care possible for their clients and their pets.

The Role: 
This is a full-time Veterinary Surgeon position working an average of 41 hours per week (4 ½ days per week) on a rota basis. The opening hours are 9am - 7pm. The weekend rota is 1 in 2 Saturdays working 9 am - 12 pm and there are no out of hours requirements. 

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional and be business minded. This vet must be ambitious, an excellent communicator and keen to develop and grow the practice reputation and work their own caseload up fully. You will need to have 2+ years’ experience with an interest in Ophthalmology and imaging is desirable but not essential.

In return, you will be joining this cheerful, professional team who love music which is played throughout the practice to get them through busy days. A generous salary of up to £50,000 is available (DOE) with bonus’s available dependent on turnover and growth of the practice, a CPD allowance of £1500 is on offer and support towards a certificate is available.
