We are working with a busy small animal veterinary practice in the Luton area of Bedfordshire that is looking for a permanent full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team.

The Practice:

They are a long-established RCVS accredited veterinary hospital, located in the heart of rural Bedfordshire. Their friendly and welcoming team consists of 9 vets and 16 RVNs alongside a support team and Practice Manager. They have a well-equipped hospital with an in house lab complete with a lab technician, ultrasound, digital X-ray, theatre, laparoscopy, endoscopy, and our new CT scanner. Their clinical team has the freedom to work up cases to a high standard and the support of their colleagues when they wish to share ideas and seek advice.

The Role and Candidate:

Our client is looking for a friendly, experienced, and enthusiastic vet with a minimum of 3-5 years post-graduate experience to join s busy team as part of a purpose-built practice. They have 9 vets so this role would suit someone who is confident to manage their own cases, but who also enjoys being part of a team sharing knowledge and experience. They are a busy hospital and there is plenty of scopes to see a wide range of cases. A medical bias is preferred, though not essential, the role would suit a candidate who excels in consulting within a busy hospital environment varied with quieter branch shifts.

Whilst this position is full time, they are happy to consider part-time applicants working 20-30 hours per week. A 40 hour week can be flexible around your needs to include either 4 x longer days or 5 x shorter days. Saturday mornings only are on a 1:3 rota and there are no OOH expectations.

The successful candidate will be a good team player who is keen to learn and progress, have a good sense of humour, and have a passion for the role. They are looking for someone with great communication skills - both with clients and the rest of the team, who is confident to work within a bustling hospital environment.

The Remuneration Package:

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary, reflective of experience, with an excellent package that will be discussed in the interview.
