We are working with a charity practice in Cardiff that is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. Their preference would be for someone with 3yrs experience that is used to a busy working environment.

The Practice:

Our client has a purpose-built single-story clinic that has staff parking and a newly refurbished waiting room. To manage their busy caseload they have six consult rooms, four of which are shared which are ideal for teaching and teamwork. Off a spacious preparation area, there are two separate theatres are used for concurrent surgeries with one ideal for orthopaedics, in addition to a tub table with a dental machine, a new high-quality ultrasound machine in an adjacent room, and a digital radiography suite. The practice has access to a standard endoscopy unit and a range of orthopaedic kit including ASIF and hand tools.

The Role:

Our client is now seeking a Veterinary Surgeon (VS) to join them on a full-time permanent basis where you will be working 37.5 hours a week with 1 weekend in 4 on a rota basis (Part-time considered). This role will be responsible for the delivery of an efficient, professional, and caring service to clients, providing a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst also promoting pet wellbeing and delivering preventive services.

Their preference would be for someone with 3yrs experience, who is used to a busy working environment – they are currently only seeing emergency cases and there would be the opportunity to work from home for some shifts.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon and responsible for updating their knowledge by attending regular CPD training. You will be involved in all aspects of clinical governance at the Pet Hospital, responsible for managing cases cost-effectively, encouraging financial contributions from clients, and making sure that practice resources are used appropriately.

The Remuneration Package:

In return, our client is offering a competitive salary of £33,281-£43,421 p/a FTE (DOE) and benefits package that includes:

  • Allocated CPD funding of 37.5 hours
  • 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
