We are working with a mixed animal practice that is looking for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role that would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with interests in both consulting and surgery.

The Practice:

This large practice is situated in beautiful mid-Cornwall close to the Eden Project with plenty of beautiful beaches and coastline nearby. They have five small animal surgeries and a large animal department. Two of their surgeries have ISFM silver cat-friendly status and all of the surgeries have General Practice RCVS Practice Standards status. They have excellent 24-hour nursing care at their Hospital and are proud to provide their own out of hour’s service to clients and pride themselves on offering a high standard of patient and client care. They are a friendly team and have several certificate holders across the group.

The Role:

Our client is looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon with interests in both consulting and surgery. They work in a supportive team environment and encourage and support you to develop your own interests. They have lots of equipment including ultrasound, digital X-ray, dental X-ray, endoscopy, and tonometry and have an in house blood machine in every surgery. Their full-time vets work a 4 day week plus a share of weekends and out of hours work, they don’t expect their vets to work nights & days at the same time.

The Candidate:

Our client is looking for a small animal vet with some experience who is looking to increase their case responsibility. The right applicant will be confident with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Developing client bonds and case continuity is very important in this role. There is clinical freedom to work up your own cases and the caseload would support studying towards a certificate.

The Remuneration Package:

In return, our client is offering a comprehensive package (pro-rata for part-time) that includes:

  • Competitive Salary (DOE)
  • Pension scheme
  • Private medical insurance
  • Generous CPD allowance.
  • The holiday allowance is 5 weeks plus bank holidays p.a.
  • And much, much more
