We are currently looking for a permanent full-time Veterinary Surgeon for a friendly small animal practice in West Sussex.
Our client is nestled between the South Downs and the sea and are a Tier 2 RCVS accredited practice. They are 100% small animal 3 centre practice, who see a lot of wildlife and exotics and have mod cons including digital X-ray, Endoscopy and Ultrasound. They are proud to be able to provide their own 24-hour care. You will be working alongside 13 veterinary surgeons and 12 qualified veterinary nurses, 7 trainee nurses, an animal technician, 11 receptionists, 2 practice managers and 2 administrative assistants, who pride themselves on being a very personal approachable practice.
The role is full-time position working 40 hours a week over 4 days shifts of 8 am - 6 pm or 8 am – 7 pm. The out of hour requirements are currently 1 night in 11.5 (with an extra vet this will be 1 in 12.5). You will cover 1 bank holiday in approximately every 18 months. The out of hours commission, which is half or whatever the consultation fee is to the client this will depend on the time of the call out, but emergency consultation fees outside normal hours start at £140.
Weekends are currently on a rota of 2 Saturdays in 11.5 weeks and 1 Sunday in 11.5 weeks (again, with an extra vet this will be 2 in 12.5 and 1 in 12.5). If you are working a Saturday, Friday night will be on-call before, and if working the Sunday, the Sunday night will also be on-call.
The ideal candidate will be confident, friendly and a good communicator. New graduates are considered. The practice is part of the Vetsure Graduate program and have already taken on several new graduates in the past.
