We are working with a client based in Cambridge that is looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to work on a full-time permanent basis.
The Practice:
Our client has practices across North London, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire, which includes four 24-hour emergency hospitals and a specialist referral centre in London. They have nearly 300 staff, including specialists in Soft Tissue Surgery, Dermatology and Emergency and Critical Care, staff with certificates in feline practice, and residency trained consultants in anaesthesia and analgesia and internal medicine. Due to the various sizes of our clients practices the pace of work ranges from a quieter practice through to a busy hospital.
The Role:
This is a full-time role for a Veterinary Surgeon working on average 45 hours per week. This will include covering 1 in 6 weekends, 1 extra bank holiday a year and EIV (on call duties).
Your main responsibilites will include:-
PATIENT/CLINICAL CARE - Delivering a high level of clinical care to standards in conjunction with the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme (Including but not limited to holding consultations and diagnosing animals, performing surgery, administering anaesthesia, undertaking scans, prescribing and euthanases where necessary)
CLIENT CARE - The delivery of client satisfaction to an exceptional level as defined by the group. This includes making all your interactions with clients fully focused on delivering value, exceptional service and warmth to the clients
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT – Making sure that your work fully supports the Head Vet’s objective of ensuring the hospital runs effectively and efficiently
TEAMWORK – Working within the Vet teams and wider hospital team, to contribute your skills, efforts and personal strengths to help ensure a harmonious team ethos at all times
The Candidate:
Our client is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon that has small animal medical and routine surgical experience. You should be experienced in face to face consultations with the ability to lead when the situation requires it and have worked in a busy hospital or practice. It would be beneficial if you had previous experience in a 24-hour Emergency Critical Care Centre and worked in a sole charge role, An awareness of operational aspects of the practice that affect practice profitabliltiy would also be of benefit.
