We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon in Gloucester, on a full-time basis. The practice is looking for a vet with at least 2+ years of experience that is confident in a sole charge role. ( they will also consider a very driven vet with 1 year in practice experience).

The Practice:

This is multi-site across 4 practices in the Gloucestershire area. The practice has appointed a fantastic new Clinical Director and has been extensively redeveloped to provide a modern air-conditioned clinic with superb facilities for providing the best veterinary care in Gloucester. They offer a full range of treatments from health checks to emergency operations and intensive care facilities for critical care. Run a fully equipped lab so results can be accessed as quickly as possible. In-house, the investigation is backed up with a referral to a large commercial outside lab who specializes in a fast turn around to get the answers as soon as possible. The imaging suite includes a state of the art digital x-ray machine with a floating bucky table for all things orthopaedic and cardiothoracic, a flexible fibre optic endoscope for gastrointestinal investigation and a colour flow Doppler ultrasound machine for investigating soft tissue diseases and heart disease. One of the strengths of the practice is the extensive range of surgical equipment and surgical expertise they possess. All the practices are very friendly and you can even bring your Dog to work.

The Role and Candidate:

This is a full-time position working 5 days per week. A weekend rota of 1 in 4. You will be based in one of the branches in the Gloucestershire area with the option of working one day a week in the Main referral Branch. This role over the chance to practice new procedures No out of hours required for this position. In this role, you will be covering duties that include basic medical and surgical procedures, and the sole charge is required so you must be comfortable with this.

The practice is looking for a veterinary surgeon with at least 2 years of experience ( they will consider a Vet with 1 year in practice experience) The vet will enjoy caring for clients and their pets on an individual basis. You will have excellent communication skills and bedside manner, and strive to deliver outstanding veterinary care and customer service to the practice’s loyal clients. You will have a strong desire to bond with clients and get to know their pets. This role would suit a confident and ambitious vet who works well within a team and be able to stand on their own two feet. It would be the ideal role for a vet who wants to have the option to develop their skills having the option to work one day a week in the main hospital observing or performing procedures.
