Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Blackpool

Type: Small Animal

Location: Blackpool

Practice Type: Charity Practice - Now, over 100 years later and with 48 pet hospitals fully operational across the UK, they’re proud of the fact that they continue to provide expert care to those pets and people who need us most. What they do really matters!

Facilities: The hospital is a purpose-built single-site practice with digital X-rays among other great equipment. They have a high and interesting caseload, both medical and surgical. These include many different endocrinopathies, fracture repairs, and more complicated soft tissue surgeries. They also do a high level of in-house lab work. You will be supported by an experienced, knowledgeable team that is passionate about the value their work brings to the local community.

Role: They are a great career choice for those who want to spend their time caring for animals and promoting responsible pet ownership. So, if you’re ready for a challenge and would like to work for one of the Sunday Times Top 100 Non-Profit organisations, they look forward to talking to you.

Duties:

  • If you want to make a difference and join their amazing organisation, you will be a qualified vet who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team providing consistent, quality clinical care. You will have strong people skills, be confident in communicating with a wide range of clients, and, of course, have a sense of humour. They also believe in developing talent across the full range of clinical practice and also leadership, should you be interested. Willingness to share your skills and lead by example is essential.

  • Your passion for what they do will drive you to champion the charity and promote client contributions and always keep an eye on resources suggesting efficiencies wherever possible. They really do listen.

  • The work is fast-paced and challenging so they work hard to ensure that you have the work-life balance that suits your needs as well as enabling them to deliver an outstanding service. Ask us about flexible options!

Hours:

  • Part-time or full-time

  • Average 7.5 hours (9.00 - 17.30) per day with breaks.

  • No Sundays or Bank Holidays and Sat Am 9-12 noon only (Sat Am as part of a rotated rota).

  • OOH is provided off-site by Vets now and only on-call is required.

Support: They understand the importance of personal growth and are passionate about development. This means different things to different people so you will have regular line manager meetings to ensure your personal plan is tailor-made. They want to support their employees on this journey, whether it be developing clinical skills or working towards management goals.

Salary: Competitive Salary£35,865 - £52,856(incl. allowances) per annum

Benefits:

  • 25 days holiday per year with an additional paid day off to focus on your well-being (pro rata)
