Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Cambridge

Type: Small Animal

Location: Cambridge

Practice Type:

  • Our client is a first-opinion small animal hospital with 5 branch surgeries and a state-of-the-art rehabilitation centre.
  • This practice has been caring for pets for over 100 years, and they pride themselves on providing gold-standard veterinary medicine.
  • Their tier 3 hospital has excellent facilities and equipment and hosts their dedicated out-of-hours service.

Facilities: They have all the equipment available to enable full workup of cases in-house – digital radiography, ultrasound (including separate cardiac probe and Doppler), video-endoscopy (gastroscope, bronchoscope, and small rigid endoscopes), multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring, tonometry, etc. They have just opened a new wing at their hospital with a state-of-the-art operating theatre, treatment rooms, and a calm and spacious cat ward. They are also very proud of The ARC – a purpose-built physiotherapy and hydrotherapy unit with an aquatic treadmill and K-Laser, run by their two qualified physiotherapists.

Team: They have a fantastic, experienced, and friendly clinical team with many certificate holders and they support and encourage CPD (including certificate study).

Role: We have a Great Opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a wonderful group of practices in Cambridgeshire!

Duties:

  • The role will be a varied one. You will see a good mixture of consultations and surgeries.
  • They have a fantastic hospital site, with its own dedicated night team, and 5 smaller clinics in the local area. The role can be split between some or all sites, offering great variety; each site is equipped for routine surgery and consults, with one being home to their purpose-built rehabilitation center, staffed by their physiotherapy team.
  • They offer hydrotherapy, laser therapy, and a range of treatments.

Hours: They are looking for a full-time vet to work 4 X 9 hour days per week plus 1 in 4 weekends. Part-time hours also considered.

Skills/Exp: They are looking for a small animal Vet who is happy to work both as part of a multi-vet team and sole charge. They are open to discussions about consulting-only positions and various working patterns across the sites.

Support: You will be joining a very welcoming team who all support each other. All of their Associates are committed to the care of clients and their pets and they would love to hear from applicants who share the same values. Many of their clinical team hold certificates in medicine, surgery, cardiology, dermatology, and diagnostic imaging, with advanced practitioners in medicine and surgery. They are always keen to support professional development and certificates where possible.
