We are working with a purpose-built small animal clinic in Yeovil, Somerset that is looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full or part-time permanent basis.

The Practice:

Our client is a group of practice in the counties of Somerset and Dorset that are well-established and trusted Veterinary Group. Their purpose-built small animal clinic in Somerset has a dedicated team which includes 1 full-time Vet, 1 part-time Vet who covers both Small Animal sites, 1 qualified RVN training nurse, 1 part-time RVN, 1 student nurse and 4 receptionists. They have excellent facilities which include digital x-ray, full Idexx Lab, Scope, Ultrasound, ECG, Laparoscopy kit. The practice will be the only one in the area that carries out keyhole surgery. They are proud of their team and services that they offer our clients and their pets.

The Role:

This is a permanent role where you work some days 10:00-18:30 and others 08:00-17:30. The roe will include an equal share of the on-call rota and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, allowing for a great work/ life balance. They would also ask for flexibility in covering Holidays and Sickness. They also have 2 en-suite bedrooms available for use when the on-call rota is being covered at the practice.

The Candidate:

Communication and customer care are first and foremost in our clients' daily routine so practice experience will be required. An interest in soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics would be an advantage or any other skill that may be beneficial to the practice. Covering the other vets for holiday and sickness is essential and being in sole charge of the practice at times will be expected, they may also ask you to cover in their Sherborne site from time to time which will give you the opportunity of meeting a different team of Vets that cover other areas of the business.
