Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Hackney, London

We are working with a fantastic practice in Hackney, East London, that has a very exciting opportunity that has arisen for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time permanent basis. They are seeking a strong all-rounder Vet with at least 2-5 years experience, an interest in Surgery would be a bonus but is not essential.

The Practice:

This is a busy practice surrounded by cafes, bars, restaurants, and the lovely Dalston Gardens just a 2-minute walk away. This branch performs a high volume of procedures is equipped with a full in-house lab, ethylene oxide sterilisation, and digital X-ray. The branch is set up over three floors with a separate cat ward and theatre. You will be working with a great team made up of 1.5 Vets, both trained in clinical coaching, and 2 Student Nurses. The branch is situated about 5 mins walk from both Dalston Junction and Dalston Kingsland station. There are also several nearby bus routes and use of a car park at the rear of the practice. They also have accommodation available if required in Kentish Town, which is approx. 15 minutes via the overground.

The Role and Candidate:

This is a permanent full-time role where you will be working 39 hours per week with 1:3 half or 1:6 full weekends. You will also have a fair share of the bank holiday and on-call rota with all vets in the region. The on-call rota supports the region's dedicated night team in their hospital practice, approx. 2-3 weeks of the year, if required. 

They are seeking a strong all-rounder with at least 2-5 years experience, an interest in Surgery would be a bonus but is not essential. The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator and a great team player. You will have enthusiasm for offering a great service to your clients, building on the clinic's local reputation, and playing a crucial part within the team to add continued success!

You will be joining a two vet clinic with a head nurse and two student nurses, equipped with X-rays, full blood machines. 

The Package:

This role offers a competitive remuneration package between £46,500 - £52,500 per annum, depending on experience including £12,000 housing allowance, vehicle or £2,500 allowance, £1,500 CPD allowance with 3-days CPD leave, RCVS, VDS, and BVA memberships.
