Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Isle of Wight
Type: Small Animal
Location: Isle of Wight
Local area: While you aren’t at work you soon come to realise you are living somewhere quite special and unique. You may only be 3 miles off the south coast, an hour from the mainland with 80 ferry crossings per day, but right on your doorstep, you have the coastal scenery, sailing, surfing, paddleboarding, golf, horse riding, and some beautiful pubs.
Services/Facilities: They have state-of-the-art equipment which includes a CT scanner, laparoscopic surgery, video endoscopy, new ultrasound, and that is without mentioning the fact they are building a brand-new surgery
Team: Also, a fantastic team within a people-centric environment, they share, they help, and they encourage your development. If development is your thing, then they encourage you to do it with the enhanced CPD allowance, coupled with a solid team of experienced vets, this is a chance to really take your career to the next step
Role: They have multiple amazing opportunities for enthusiastic and dedicated Veterinary Surgeons to join their
flexible family-friendly team
Hours: They are very open to discussing the hours that suit you – whether you’re considering a full-time, part-time, term-time, or solely on-call contract. Many of their staff work flexibly with the potential to add extra hours to supplement your base salary. One thing is certain though, they close at 5.30 pm and they ensure that the team does finish on time.
OOHS/Weekends: The on-call rota is shared equally between vets for weekend and weeknight duties. They’re currently
working on minimalizing the on-call duties vets need to undertake and have managed to outsource all night duties until 2022, with all vets sharing the weekend daytimes on call.
Duties: Ensuring you have a work-life balance to explore and make the most of this beautiful island is important
to us. They are happy to accommodate specific interests so you can make this role your very own with options to perform more surgery or more consultations, other vets prefer to be out on the road more doing home visits.
