Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - North Manchester
This is a great opportunity for a recently graduated small animal veterinary surgeon of at least 2 years to grow and develop at our client’s established, independent clinic-based to the northeast of Manchester. Our client is looking for a conscientious, keen, passionate small animal veterinary surgeon to join their team on a permanent basis.
The Practice:
This highly regarded small animal veterinary practice has 2 sites and is dedicated to the care of companion animals including dogs, cats, and a variety of other small animals. They are in fact a gold accredited feline friendly practice. Their mission created by the owner is ‘I wanted somewhere I would be happy to bring my own pet; this idea still carries on to this day’. They currently have a long-standing team of 4 vets, 6 RVNs, 4 ANAs and as a nurse training practice have a strong belief in the development and investment of all their staff. They are open 24/7 and have their own day and night team offering a wide range of general practice treatment. Heavy investment has been made into the practice to ensure that it is fully-equipped with modern facilities and diagnostic/surgical equipment to ensure that all their patients receive the ultimate treatment in pet healthcare at affordable prices. Their facilities and services include the following:- multiple examination rooms & operating theatres, operation prep area, digital X-ray, digital dental X-ray, brand new colour ultrasound, endoscopy which allows the team to perform keyhole bitch spay surgery, health checks & vaccinations, parasite prevention, neutering, orthopaedics, and shortly they are to acquire their own CT scanner
The Role:
This is a permanent small animal veterinary surgeon post, working 8-hour shifts between 8.00 -16.30 and 8.00 - 19.30. No OOHs, sole charge [dependent on competency], 1:4 Saturday 8.00 - 19.00 with the Monday off, consults 15 mins, computer system Teleos. Good work-life balance.
The Candidate:
This position would suit a recently graduated small animal veterinary surgeon of around 2 years. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their dedication and passion for the veterinary industry and be happy to work as part of a cohesive and efficient team. They will need to be able to handle consults and undertake routine surgery and have good communication skills both verbal and written. An interest in ongoing development would be supported and mentorship and guidance offered.
