Permanent Veterinary Surgeon -Rhondda Valley region, South East Wales

We are working with a fabulous team of dedicated veterinary professionals who offer unrivaled care for their patients, based in a beautiful location within an easy commute from vibrant Cardiff, the Brecon Beacons to the North and glorious beaches to the South. This is a fabulous opportunity because they are happy to hear from small animal veterinary surgeons who have either medical, surgical, imaging, or dental biases as these are areas they are able to support.

The Practice:

The practice has two branches, both purpose-built to run independently and fully equipped to care for patients if they need a workup. They have excellent facilities in both branches, such as in-house blood, CR, ultrasound, and surgical capability, to name but a few.

Their biggest asset is their positive, friendly, and engaged team. Staff feedback and staff-led changes see them constantly evolving their services and diary. They currently have 8 vets (2 of these are part-time), 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses + 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, and a growing support team of 9+. They have one vet working towards a surgical certificate, and they are supporting others in working towards their preferred specialties.

They are also proud to say that they have not had any permanent MRCVS team members leave for over 5 years and continually strive to create a positive ethos, giving their staff a balanced workload.

They think of their staff as a family, not just colleagues!

The Role:

This is a full-time position working 38 hours across 4 days per week on a fixed rota day off per week, with 1:3 Saturdays and time back in lieu. No OOHs 15 minute consults. They appreciate how important a good work/life balance is & have ‘catch up time’ blocked off during the day and the last consult booked is 45 minutes before the end of the day, so there’s a chance to leave early!

The Candidate:

This position would suit a veterinary surgeon who has worked in a small animal, first opinion environment, even if this was short-term or you may need support to get going again. They are also open to candidates who are more experienced, who are looking to take the next step in their career and develop more specific aspects of their skillset. Most of all they are looking for someone who is easygoing and can settle into their friendly team - their practice is focused on giving a high-quality experience across the whole range of medicine and surgery.

Salary: is up to £60,000 depending on experience & excellent additional benefits included in the package.
