Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - South coast in East Sussex

We are currently working with a delightful independent practice based on the beautiful south coast in East Sussex. They have an exciting opportunity for a permanent small animal veterinary surgeon to join them in delivering top-quality veterinary care to their loyal & potential new clients based in their community.

The Practice:

This practice is built on expertise and modern facilities and was founded by a skilled veterinary surgeon with over 20 years in practice who was able to bring with him a team of specialists in any referrals, all well known in their fields. Their aim has always been to treat the vast majority of cases no matter how serious on-site. They have a very friendly, affable, and pleasant team of 2 full-time and 1 part-time vet, 2 RVNs, 2 SVNs, and 1 ANA. It is the love of and animals and the comfort of their companionship which forms the ethos and culture that drives the practice and the team forward. They have invested heavily in technology to enable them to offer the very best in equipment and medicine. They are therefore able to effectively undertake general health checks to the more serious and varied cases. Among the services and facilities, the practice offers is large reception and waiting area, 2 consulting rooms, laboratory, theatre, small ops area, X-ray, hospital facilities, ophthalmology, soft tissue, and orthopaedic surgery, pet passports, pet health plan, emergencies, referrals, vaccinations and preventive healthcare, neutering, parasite treatment, microchipping, pharmacy, pet shop stocking great foods, including ethically sourced dog food, and ample parking.

The Role and Candidate:

This is a permanent full-time position working 8.30- 19.00 - 4 days per week, with occasional sole charge, 1:3 Saturdays 9.00 - 12.30, NO OOHs. 10- 20 minute consult times dependent on patient needs, Ezyvet computer system. 

This position would suit a small animal veterinary surgeon with at least 4 years+ experience or at the very least someone who is able to demonstrate good GP first opinion skills, confident with routine surgery, comfortable with some sole charge, able to ‘hit the floor running’. They will also be able to communicate well at all levels and to integrate well into an established team.
