Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Stafford

Practice: Part of a group - They have two small animal practices, which have serviced the veterinary needs of companion animals in Stafford and the surrounding area for over three decades.
Facilities: Both of their premises are accredited by the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme in both Core Standards and Tier 2 Small Animal General Practice. They also have achieved silver status in the Cat-Friendly scheme in both of their practices, something their associates are very proud of. Our two practices are light and spacious and have recently been renovated. One site has 2 theatres, which are glass linked. They also have a digital x-ray, in-house blood machines, ultrasound, dental radiography, and all the dental equipment needed.
Team: They are an experienced 6 Veterinary Surgeon team supported by a dedicated nurse front-of-house team. Investing in their associates and professional development is important to them and is actively encouraged. Two of their Vets are working towards certificates in internal medicine and dermatology
Role: They are now looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join them permanently. They would be open to full and part-time applications
- 40 hours per week, over 4 days. (Set day off)
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (8am – 12:30)
- 3x 8 am-6 pm shifts and 1x 8 am-8 pm.
- No out of hours
Duties: Your day-to-day role would include 1 day of surgery, 1 day of consultations, and 2 days of a mixture of both. If you do have a surgical bias or prefer consultations, they would be open to tailoring the frequency of surgery with your role, to match your preference.
Candidate: The ideal candidate for this role would be a surgeon who feels comfortable with all primary care duties. They may be able to support a surgeon with more advanced procedures if you feel comfortable with all routine primary care duties.
Salary: Competitive salary of up to £65,000 p/a (negotiable D.O.E.)
