Permanent Veterinary Surgeon, Tamworth

We are working with a long-established small animal veterinary practice based in Tamworth, Staffordshire that is looking for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a permanent basis. They are looking for a Vet with at least one year of post-graduate practice experience.

The Practice:

Our client is based across two locations in the Staffordshire area and they have an experienced team of nine vets and thirteen nurses that provide the best clinical care to their patients. Their thirty-strong team includes many colleagues with advanced qualifications and the practice has state-of-the-art services. With experience in Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Arthritis Management, and Cancer Treatment, they only refer out a small number of their cases.

The practice facilities include In-house blood testing, Endoscopy, Ultrasound, ECG, and radiography to name a few. Their focus is to provide a good service at an affordable price in a friendly busy environment.

The Role and Candidate:

This is a full-time permanent position where you will be working 4 long days per week, with a weekend rota of 1 in 8, which works out as follows -

40 Hrs over 8 weeks, 2 x Sat morning WK 6 & 7, full weekend WK 8 (Sat 8.30 -5 pm & Sun 9.30-4.30pm) Monday off after your weekend on.

Our client is looking for a compassionate and professional Veterinary Surgeon that works to a high standard and works well as part of a team. They currently have 9 Veterinary Surgeons, 2 of who have specialisms in Cardiology & internal medicine, and 1 in Ophthalmology. They also have a Vet currently doing his surgical certificate and another working on Emergency critical care. They aim to provide a supportive environment to support development.

The Package:

In return, they are offering an excellent salary of between £33,000 – £50,000 p/a (DOE) and benefits package that includes:
