Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Uttlesford District, Essex

Location: Uttlesford District, Essex

Practice: This is a busy established veterinary hospital with 3 additional branches in North Essex. They are within extremely easy reach of Cambridge, London, and Stansted airport. Part of a group

Team: You will be joining a team of 10 Veterinary Surgeons with a diverse range of interests and expertise and 12 Registered Veterinary Nurses and Student Veterinary Nurses. They have a number of visiting specialists enabling them to work cases up to a high standard in-house including consultation helpers to assist with holding animals in consults and cleaning etc, a visiting cardiologist, ophthalmologist, and ultrasonographer. 

Role: They can be very flexible with the type of position, they can offer a mixed role including hospital inpatient care, surgery, and consultations, or a purely consulting role.

Hours: The rota for this role will involve working 40 hours per week over 4 days. 1 in 6 weekends at the main hospital and on-call for inpatients. Part-time applications will be considered. 

OOHS: They hospitalise their own inpatients enabling them to work up difficult cases thoroughly and provide the best possible care. They have an on-sight night Nurse team, the Vets are required to be on call for inpatients only. All calls and emergencies otherwise are dealt with by Vets Now. 

Applicant Requirements: They are looking for a qualified Veterinary Surgeon ideally with a minimum of one year’s clinical experience. Non-UK residents will be considered. A driving license is required. Confident new graduates may be considered. 

Salary: The salary for this role will be up to £65,000 depending on experience.
