Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Wakefield

Type: Small Animal

Location: Approx. 10 miles from Wakefield in West Yorkshire

Practice Type: They are PSS accredited and are also a training practice and enjoy having student nurses join their team. Their practice is well equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including IDEXX lasercyte and catalyst machines, multi-parameter anaesthetic monitoring equipment, digital x-ray, and ultrasound.

Team: You’ll be working alongside two other full time vets including a soon to be surgical certificate holder, a team of five registered veterinary nurses and five support staff.

Role: They are seeking an RCVS-accredited Veterinary Surgeon to join their small animal practice.  

Hours: The position is based on a 40hr week although they’d be delighted to discuss shorter or part time hours for the right candidate. Shift patterns can be discussed but they'll always include one weekday off

Weekends: The weekend work is shared on a 1 in 3 Saturday rota basis. 

OOHS: There is no OOH work with a local veterinary hospital, covering this for them, allowing them to provide the best patient care possible whilst maintaining a good quality of life for their colleagues

Duties: They can tailor the role to a new or recent graduate looking for support with their cases and career progression or for a more experienced colleague looking to pursue their own interests. 

Salary: They’re more than happy to discuss salary expectations – their bracket is £33,000 - £60,000. They’re also happy to discuss a relocation package should they need to provide support for a candidate moving to a new community.

Package: They believe in supporting their colleagues development with sponsoring CPD and providing access to post graduate certification as well as training the next generation of Veterinary Nurses and providing access to the Advanced Diploma for their current team.
